Spiclypeus

“That frill is not just for show… Or is it?”
Zora Bennett

Spiclypeus is a type of chasmosaurine ceratopsian dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period around 77-75 million years ago. Spiclypeus was a mid-sized, horned herbivore with a distinctively spiked frill hense the name comes from Latin “spica” means spike and “lypeus” means shield.

It had a spiked frill which is unique among horned dinosaurs, with fused and curled spikes. The horns were short, not as long as those seen in Triceratops. They also rocked a prominent nasal horn.

The size was still respectable among the Ceratopsian family with length of about 4.5 to 6 meters (15–20 feet) and height (at hips) somewhere around 2 meters (6.5 feet)
The Spiclypeus weighted around 2,000 to 3,000 kg (4,400–6,600 lbs)
