The Torvoneustes was a marine carnivore from the family of the Metriorhynchids, or in other words, it was a fully marine-adapted crocodilian relative. It was terroryzing the seas in the Late Jurassic, roughly 155–150 million years ago.
It was first discovered at the shores of England and due to its relatively medium size and rather large jaw with big sharp teeth it was called “Torvoneustes” which means “Savage swimmer”.
Distinctive features were the streamlined body due to which it is believed it was able to achieve mindblowing speed under the water as well as a powerful fin tail, long snout. Unlike his predecessors, the crocodile it had no armour at all.
According to the fossils that were found, it is believed that in length it was reaching about 3 – 4 meters (10 – 13 feet) amd weighed somewhere around 250 – 500 kg (550 – 1,100 lbs)
