About Velociraptor
Velociraptor was named in 1924 by Henry Fairfield Osborn, from a skull and claw found in Mongolia in 1923. The name means swift seizer.
It lived in the Late Cretaceous, about 75 to 71 million years ago. The real animal was about 1.5 to 2 m long including the tail and about 15 kg.
In 2007, scientists found quill knobs on a Velociraptor arm bone, showing it had feathers.
