“She was my favorite when I was a kid. Now I see her, she’s the most beautiful thing I ever saw.”
– Alan Grant
Einiosaurus lived during the Upper Cretaceous period on on nowadays Montana USA territory. Many remains of Einiosaurus were found together, which means that it must have traveled in herds like Pachyrhinosaurus, which lived at the same time. Its name means buffalo lizard.
Einiosaurus was a herbivorous dinosaur and grew up to 6 m long. It is typically depicted with a low, strongly forward-curved nasal horn, although this may be the case only in some adult animals. The curved horn is probably a typical feature for the genus Einiosaurus. The horns above the eyes are low and rounded, if present at all, unlike ceratopsids with prominent supraorbital horns such as Triceratops. A pair of large spines protrudes posteriorly from the relatively small cervical ruff. Einiosaurus lived in an inland habitat where water and lakes were abundant.
