Mutadon Strike Attack Jurassic World Survival Review
The third Mutadon release from Mattel — after the two figures in the Ultimate Damage Destruction Pack, and before the upcoming Hammond Collection version. A decent figure with a genuinely excellent action feature, but not a must-have for anyone who already owns the Ultimate Damage set. The forward head-and-neck lunge with simultaneous jaw snap is one of the most natural-feeling action features in the Strike Attack range.

📋 The Key Question Before Buying
Do you already own the Mutadon Destruction Pack? If yes, this Strike Attack is a smaller version of a figure you already have, with a different colour scheme and a new action feature. The action feature is genuinely one of the best in the range, but it may not be enough justification on its own.
If you do not own any Mutadon yet, and the Hammond Collection version is not yet available in your region, this Strike Attack is a solid entry point for the species. With the Hammond Collection announced and expected to be the best Mutadon yet, patient collectors may want to wait.

1. Sculpt and Painting
The primary colour is a very light, almost shimmering gray running across the body, wings and tail. It distinguishes the Strike Attack version from the darker gray of the Ultimate Damage figures, giving it a slightly different identity while staying in the same grey family. A few red accents appear on the top of the head and at the tips of the wings, keeping it in line with the Survival theme.
Inside the mouth, the teeth are painted in the same yellowish tone as recent Mattel toys — not a bad thing, since few dinosaurs had Hollywood-white teeth anyway. The tongue is given a pink tone and is nicely textured.
In sculpt terms it is close to the Ultimate Damage Mutadons, but with a more aggressive posture to suit the Strike Attack feature.
Sculpt Detail
The wings
The wings carry the same light gray tone as the body, transitioning to red at the tips. The bends and folds of the wing membrane are sculpted beautifully and look real. Wing articulation allows movement out away from the body, and the arms fold back, which gives a clear view of the stomach skin detail.
Claws
The claws look very sharp but are completely safe to play with.
The action feature
It is one of the most natural and visually convincing action features in the entire Strike Attack range.

Verdict: Should I Buy It?
If you do not own any Mutadon figure yet, yes. If you already own the Ultimate Damage Destruction Pack, the decision comes down to whether you specifically want the action feature — the forward lunge with jaw snap is genuinely excellent and is not replicated by any other Mutadon release.
If you are happy with the Ultimate Damage figures and are waiting for the Hammond Collection version, as I am, that patience is probably justified.

3. About the Mutadon
The Mutadon is a fictional hybrid creature introduced in Jurassic World Rebirth (2025) and central to the Jurassic World Survival toy line. It is not based on any real prehistoric species, but represents a genetic hybrid combining elements of a dromaeosaurid theropod and a pterosaur: a bipedal predator with membranous wings, a beaked skull and the killing claw of a raptor lineage. In the film’s lore, Mutadons were created in an abandoned InGen laboratory as part of unauthorised gene-splicing experiments, combining raptor intelligence and agility with the aerial capability of pterosaurs.
In the film, Mutadons are depicted as pack hunters that use their wings for short bursts of flight or gliding rather than sustained aerial pursuit, preferring to run prey down on their legs while using the wings for balance, sudden direction changes and intimidation displays. They are shown as highly social, coordinated predators capable of flushing prey into ambushes set by other members of the pack. The forward-lunge attack posture — head and neck thrust toward prey as the jaws snap — is a signature behaviour, which makes this Strike Attack action feature one of the most film-accurate Mutadon releases Mattel has produced.
These things were created in our lab. Half raptor, half pterosaur. The DNA was never meant to be combined this way.
