“I am not sure what to feal. Should I be afraid of this one or I can pet it.”
—Eddie Carr admiring the Gigantpisanosurus.
Gigantspinosaurus is from the family of stegosaurid dinosaurs that lived during the Late Jurassic period, approximately 160 to 145 million years ago. Its fossils have been found in China and it is known for its distinctive, large, pointed spines that projected from its vertebrae.
Gigantspinosaurus was a herbivorous dinosaur that measured about 4.5 to 5 meters (15 to 16.5 feet) in length and weighed around 1 ton. It had a long and narrow skull, a short neck, and a heavily built body covered in bony plates and spines, which were probably used for protection against predators.
The most notable feature of Gigantspinosaurus is the large, pointed spines that protruded from its vertebrae, which were up to 70 centimeters (28 inches) long. These spines were longer and more pointed than those of other stegosaurs, and it is believed that they were used for defense against predators, as well as for display during courtship and other social interactions.
