Lophostropheus is a type of bipedal dinosaur that lived during the Late Triassic to Early Jurassic period or roughly 205 to 195 million years ago.
The Lophostropheus were relatively small for theropod dinosaurs, estimated to be around 3 to 5 meters (10 to 16 feet) in length. They had a typical theropod body plan, with bipedal locomotion, sharp claws, and a long tail for high-speed balance.
One of the defining features of Lophostropheus is the crested structure of its vertebrae, which influenced its naming.
