Velociraptor & Vehicle Chase Pack Jurassic World Survival Chase Pack Review

Toy Line: Chase Pack

Year: 2026

⚠️Dual Review

This is a set of two very different halves. The vehicle is the genuine star and the reason to consider this purchase this chase pack. Well sculpted, doors are opening, sticker-detailed interior, and good basic playability for a Jurassic World off-roader.

The Velociraptor boring to say the least. Personally, I can not explain why Mattel decided to release this half-baked Velociraptor, as it does not contribute anything. The painting is boring, old figure design is pure disappointment.

If you purchase this chase pack it will be for the vehicle.

About the star of the chase pack - THE VEHICLE

1. Paint Scheme and Sculpt

Paint Scheme: Desert yellow, Orange, and Dark Gray

The offroader paint is pretty basic. Always wondered why most Jurassic vehicles are yellow instead of green but I guess there is something I might be missing. The base color is once again desert yellow with some orange accents on the doors and dark gray interior.

The details like headlights, interior instrument dashboard are all sticker-based. I am a bit used to it, to be honest, and they look quite alright in pictures, but over time the stickers tend to deteriorate and start to chip away or tear apart if the play is rougher.

The sculpt is solid and pretty good looking to be honest. It can fit up to two figures on the two seats and a couple more on the trunk bed. The tires are rolling smoothly and

About the Velociraptor Figure

1. Paint Scheme and Sculpt

Paint Scheme: Turquoise, Dark Orange

Yes. Just two colors. But this is not the most absurd details about this Velociraptor. I was shocked to see that its jaw does not open, like at all.

Saying that the colors cheme is boring would be overstatement. It almost does not exist because the base colour is a bit darker shade of Orange and there is Turquise shades on top of the head and at the tail.

The sculpt looks exactly the same as the second Rebirth Velociraptor. The details across the body are exactly the same, and at least look decent enough but the entire figure looks like a template, like something that is far from finished.

Not sure why Mattel decided to release this one, other than a money squeeze from the fans and the kids that want this big truck to push around.

The only positive feature of this figure is the eyes. They are perfectly looking compared to other previous releases, but this just adds salt to the wound.

2. Action Feature, Light-Up and Articulation

  • Nothing

Verdict Should I buy it?

Only if you specifically want the vehicle. The off-road truck is the justification for this purchase. It is well made, opening doors, sticker interior, and a good addition to a Jurassic World vehicle collection.

The Velociraptor is genuinely one of the weakest Raptor figures in the Mattel line, and a fixed-shut non-articulated jaw on a Jurassic World Velociraptor feels like an insult for the fans.

3. About the Velociraptor

Velociraptor earned its fearsome reputation not from its size, as it measures only 4 meters in length and is overshadowed by larger and less intimidating dinosaur species. However, its ferocity and intelligence set it apart. Equipped with large, sharp teeth and sickle-shaped claws, Velociraptor is an exceptionally efficient predator, primarily targeting herbivorous dinosaurs like Protoceratops. Nevertheless, its limited strength means it is unlikely to engage in combat with larger or heavily armored dinosaurs.

The initial discovery of Velociraptor took place in 1923 by Peter Kaisen during an expedition to the Gobi Desert in Outer Mongolia, conducted in collaboration with the American Museum of Natural History. Kaisen unearthed a complete skull and a toe claw, which were subsequently sent to Henry Fairfield Osborne at the museum in New York. The specimen was then named Velociraptor, meaning ‘swift plunderer,’ referencing its impressive speed and predatory behavior.

Fossils of Velociraptor have solely been found within the Djadochta Formation in Mongolia, indicating that this genus inhabited the region approximately 70-74 million years ago, during the Late Cretaceous period. The climate during this time was desert-like, prompting Velociraptor to gravitate towards streams and rivers where its prey would gather in search of vegetation.

Does the Velociraptor in the Vehicle Chase Pack have a moving jaw?

No. The Velociraptor in this set has no jaw articulation. The mouth is fixed permanently in a closed position with no mechanism to open it.

Is the Vehicle Chase Pack worth buying for the vehicle?

If you collect Jurassic World vehicles, yes. The off-road vehicle has opening doors, sticker-detailed interior, a working steering wheel, a front winch, and a human figure peg on the back. It is the strongest element of the set by a significant margin and makes a reasonable addition to a JW vehicle fleet.

Which Velociraptor set should I buy instead?

Any other Rebirth or Survival Velociraptor release is a better choice for the figure itself. The Rebirth Strike Attack and Danger Pack versions both have jaw articulation, better paint, and more complete detailing than this vehicle pack version.

How do I scan the Velociraptor DNA code in the Vehicle Chase Pack?

Open the Jurassic World Play App, tap the Scan button, and point it at the DNA barcode on the Velociraptor figure.
