Minqaria is a genus of small duck-billed dinosaur (hadrosaurid) from the Late Cretaceous period, specifically the Maastrichtian age, approximately 68 to 66 million years ago.
The discovery of Minqaria in North Africa is significant because hadrosaurids were primarily known from North America and Asia. Its presence in Morocco suggests that these dinosaurs dispersed into Africa, possibly by swimming or rafting across marine barriers.
The size of Minqaria was approximately 3.5 meters (11.5 feet) in length and weighing somewhere about 250 kilograms (550 pounds), making it relatively small for a hadrosaurid.
