“Our Scientists are magicians you know. They recreated this dinosaur by simply analysing a fossilised footprint. Don’t ask how, don’t ask why.”
Simon Masrani

Archaeornithomimus is a fascinating, although lesser-known, theropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period or somewhere about 96–89 million years ago.

It’s related to other “ostrich-mimic” dinosaurs like Gallimimus, Struthiomimus, and Ornithomimus and just like them is shares a lot of bird-like features, such as long legs (built for speed), toothless beaks and long necks and tail.

“Archaeornithomimus” means “ancient bird mimic” — but it wasn’t a bird! It just looked a lot like one, with its beak and long legs for running super fast!

Archaeornithomimus, like its relatives, was likely a fast runner, with powerful hind limbs and a lightweight body. It probably relied on its speed to evade predators.
