Jurassic World Epic Evolution Atrociraptor
“I love the Pyroraptors. I love the Atrociraptors. There’s a little one called the Moros intrepidus, who doesn’t do a ton in the movie, but whenever it shows up, I always love it.”

Atrociraptor, a carnivorous dinosaur belonging to the dromaeosaurid family, originated in the late Cretaceous period. Its name, derived from Latin, translates to ‘savage thief’ highlighting the creature’s ability to capture and kill prey using rows of serrated teeth. Atrociraptor is among InGen’s ‘designer dinosaurs’ and exists in various colors. Growing to a length of approximately 4 meters, this genus has been genetically engineered to exhibit exceptional dexterity, high intelligence, and large, powerful claws, making it an incredibly efficient hunter.
The initial Atrociraptor remains were discovered in 1995 when Wayne Marshall, a local resident, unearthed a series of teeth and jaw fragments in the Horseshoe Canyon Formation located in Alberta, Canada. However, it wasn’t until 2004 that paleontologists Phillip J. Currie and David Varricchio officially described the specimen and assigned it the name Atrociraptor. Remarkably, the 1995 finding remains the sole known Atrociraptor specimen.
Around 68.5 million years ago, Atrociraptor inhabited the floodplains and swamps of Alberta, coexisting with various other dinosaurs such as Albertosaurus, Ornithomimus, and Deinonychus.
