Kryptops – Wild Roar

“Your arms are… pretty much vestigial at this point! Ha!” — Darius Bowman

Kryptops is another member of the theropod dinosaur family that lived during the Early Cretaceous period, approximately 110 million years ago, in the territory of today’s Niger, Africa.

The Kryptops was a medium-sized theropod, estimated to be about 6 to 7 meters (20 to 23 feet) in length. It was not as large as some of its more famous relatives like Carnotaurus.

They had heavily built skull with rough, bumpy texture, suggesting it might have had a covering of thick skin or even scales. From this comes the name Kryptops means “hidden face,” as it was most probably covered by scales.

Its teeth were quite typical for the members of this family of dinosaurs, short, stout, and serrated, perfected for gripping and tearing flesh.

Its arms were short and likely not used for hunting, a common trait among abelisaurids, just look at the tiny baby hands of the Carnotaurus lol.
