“An Scorpiovenator has just been successfully incubated. And for now, let’s hope it isn’t too hungry. Because we are out of scorpions.”
– Claire Dearing
Genyodectes Serus lived in the early Cretaceous on the territory of nowadays Argentina. It is one of the first dinosaurs that were discovered in South America. It seems to be a close relative of Ceratosaurus, but it is known only from partial jaws.
The second part of the name, serus, means “late”. Recently the length of the dinosaur was estimated to be 6.25 meters, with a weight of about 790 kg. It remains the most completely known South American theropod as well as it is known as the second non-avian dinosaur found there.
